Walter Gary "Rip" Coleman pitched five season in the Majors from 1955-60 and spent time with the New York Yankees, Kansas City A's, and Orioles. Over 95 total games, he had a 7-25 record with a 4.58 ERA.
Rip spent the tail end of his time in the Majors with the O's and pitched briefly for the team in late 1959 and early 1960. He made his Baltimore debut on September 9, 1959, becoming the 147th Oriole, and appeared in just eight total games for the team, going 0-2 with a 5.63 ERA in only eight innings pitched.
He passed away in 2004 at the age of 72. Rest in peace, Rip.
