Orioles' Managers

My Orioles' managers & coaches autograph collection frequently takes a back seat to my Orioles' players autograph collection, and for good reason, as I put a lot more time and effort into the players collection. But I recently added a few new autographs of some past Orioles Managers and I now have a signature from all of them, so I figured I would do a quick rundown post to mention each of the 19 men who have skippered the O's since 1954. Here we go...

Jimmie Dykes (1954)

Paul Richards (1955-61)

Lum Harris (1961)

Billy Hitchcock (1962-63)

Hank Bauer (1964-68)

Earl Weaver (1968-82, 85-86)

Joe Altobelli (1983-85)

Cal Ripken Sr. (1987-88)

Frank Robinson (1988-91)

Johnny Oates (1991-94)

Phil Regan (1995)

Davey Johnson (1996-97)

Ray Miller (1998-99)

Mike Hargrove (2000-03)

Lee Mazzilli (2004-05)

Sam Perlozzo (2005-07)

 Dave Trembley (2007-10)
 Juan Samuel (2010)

Buck Showalter (2010-current)

Who's Happy That Baseball's Back?

This guy. As in me. And I guess Erik Bedard might be excited even though I'm pretty sure he's hurt. And I would guess a bunch of you out there are pumped as well.

I literally can never get enough baseball news, games, anything. I love it. And the Orioles first two Spring Training games have been on the radio the past two days. I don't care if the lineups at the end of the game are a bunch of Minor Leaguers who hardly anyone has ever heard of.

Speaking of players you've probably never heard of...

Eddy's autograph might be the laziest I've seen from a no-name type player. E. R_____? Really?

Jeff M. Robinson, not Jeff D. Robinson. Keep it straight.

Todd Williams' signature confuses me. I can't make out a single letter nor see his name in there at all.

OK, you've probably heard of Phil. He was an All-Star in 1985. And he was the 1989 cap under helmet champion of baseball.

To celebrate the amazing black/orange uniforms the O's wear during Spring Training, I decided to feature a bunch of orange uniform autographed cards today. I'm too amped up to write anything much. Happy Baseball everyone!

ST Contest Update- The Tigers continue to lead the pack with a 3-0 record (but look out for the 2-0 O's, Nats & Rockies). The Blue Jays continue to struggle with a 0-4 record.

New Guys on the Block

Recently, I worked out a trade with two new autograph collecting bloggers and I wanted to share my experiences with both of them since they are both great guys and excellent trade partners. I couldn't scan all of the cards and postcards they sent me because that would've taken a long time but here are some of my favorites.

First up, Dion from Dion's IP Autos only and I started talking a trade about a month ago. We actually made the trade a few weeks back but you know how my posting schedule goes. 2 weeks late isn't bad. I'll probably be posting about 2010 Allen & Ginter in September...

Dion had a number of autographs that I needed for my collection including a few former Orioles who have passed away...

Pat Kelly (and it's on an orange uni postcard to boot!)

Former Orioles player and manager, Johnny Oates

Dion also had a few cards that I needed...

Jarvis doesn't have any O's cards so this works for my collection

I had a Keys autograph of Sendy but never got an O's card signed, until now.

I have a signed ball and 8x10 of Chad Brad, but didn't have the signed postcard.
Now if I could just find a signed Orioles card of his...

Thanks so much for all the great autographs Dion!

The other new blogger who reached out to me is Austin, who just started the Orioles Autograph Project. He sent me a bunch of autographs, but the one that really helped out my collection was Greg Aquino.

Greg doesn't have any Orioles cards, so this postcard is as good as it's going to get with Greg. Thanks for the great trade Austin.

Check out Dion's & Austin's blogs if you have a minute. They are both awesome trade partners!
