Cards from my dad and another TTM returned

This is something I have had on the back burner for a few weeks but my dad was cool enough to get me a few O's autographs two weeks ago. I don't know exactly when or where he got these cards but I've been meaning to thank him and show them off via my blog.

I thought I already had a Garrett Olson signed card but did not. This is a pretty cool Bowman Sterling for a player who just never put it together for us at the Major League level and was traded to the Cubs for Felix Pie this past offseason. I'm not really sold on "Pyay" (that's how I say it, not Pee-a) either, so eh.
The Cubs have since traded Garrett to the Mariners and I know he was called up to bigs for them at one point this season. I can't say that I care enough to see if he has pitched at all...

Dan Morgiello is also new to my collection. He briefly pitched for the O's during the 83 season which is why my dad was collecting him. He ended up with an extra auto and that in turn benefited me!

My dad also hooked me up with this Cory Doyne auto. This is the Topps certified edition of the card that Cory had signed my TTM of last month. This might be his only O's card.

Hal Brown returned my TTM request and was nice enough to personalize it for me too. He signed this card on the perfect spot so as to not write on his face or on the writing on the card. I would say he signed this like a pro!

TTMs Sent & Opening Day pics

So with my initial success at receiving autographs from Cory Doyne & Billy Hunter on Monday, I thought it was time to send out a few more requests. So this morning, requests went out to Bobby Floyd, Woody (Woodie) Held, Don Hood, Bob Johnson & Tom Shopay. They are all guys that played for the O's in the 60s or 70s so I'm hoping that the success rate is decent with them.

I also wanted to share a couple of my favorite Opening Day pictures

TTM-SUCCESS

So after watching my O's dominate on Opening Day I returned home to discover I had some mail. My first returned TTM requests!

Cory Doyne signed in 10 days from Harvey Meiselman's home address listing.

Billy Hunter signed in only 4 days from Harvey's address listing.

Needless to say I was pretty excited. What a great start!

First TTM requests sent

So I finally sent out my first batch of TTM requests yesterday using players' home addresses from Harvey Meiselman's list. I focused on some modern era players that I had Orioles cards of, but was never able to get anything signed at games.
I sent requests to Kevin Millar, Eli Marrero, Scott Williamson, Andy Van Slyke, Jaret Wright, John Halama, and Cory Doyne. No huge names, so I hope to get a couple of these returned to me.

For all you seasoned pros at TTM collecting, how long do requests take if they are sent to a player's home address and they are still actively playing? I feel like it might take quite a while.

I've also been buying up some older O's cards from guys that played in the 50s and 60s to get sent out next week. I imagine that the success rate with the older players is probably higher than the modern-era guys since I doubt they get as many requests. Or at least that's what I'm hoping...
