On a whim

I suppose this is typical for set collectors or collectors in general when
it comes to a new project: I don't like to continue with more of the same.

My goal is to eventually have a signed Orioles baseball card of every modern era player to have played in a game for my favorite team. When they do not have a card in an O's uniform or any card at all, I will try to get any autograph available. The project is huge and might be impossible to complete, but hey, it sounds like fun to me!

I'm always happy to help out another autograph collector.
It was kind of funny when I got the card signed. I set it down in front of Jamie and he started signing it right away. By the time I asked him to personalize it, he already had signed his first name. He then stopped, made sure he heard Ryan correctly, then personalized it, and finished it up by signing his last name. It was an unusual sequence of events, but it came out looking just fine.
Jamie's autograph turned out really well considering he signed it that way. Thanks for the story and thanks again for the autograph!
Awesome. I really enjoy reading the background story of how you obtained some of these cards. Thanks to both you and zman40 for all the great details.
Congrats on the Quirk. I had a connection out there this year fail. I'm just hoping he is around again next year. Any idea what he does in the off season or where he can be tracked down?
Matthew- Thanks, I know that sometimes the story about how an autograph was obtained is more interesting than anything I have to say about a player!
Kirk- I believe I saw that someone on SCN posted that Quirk is supposedly going to be a coach (maybe bullpen)for the Astros. There are a few people on SCN who are graphing the Astros in Spring Training, so you might be able to get him that way.
