Congrats Wieters

Congratulations on representing the Orioles in the 2011 MLB All-Star game Matt!

Let's not focus so much about your performance in the game but rather that you made your first All-Star team.
Keep grinding and make another All-Star team, or five or ten.

I grew bored with this game in the third inning, so I watched AGT until the 9th... when I flipped back and promptly saw Starlin Castro make an error on the biggest stage he'll ever be on.

This is Wieters second full season in the majors, and at the halfway point of the season, he's at .264/.322/.406 with 8 HR, 31 R and 34 RBI in 78 games. Defensively, I think he's done a nice job as well and I think he does a good job at handling the pitching staff.

Still, if you read the projections that were included in this SI last April, I'd say that Wieters has performed below people's expectations thus far in his career. He's still only 25 years old and has a ton of potential, but do you think that the Orioles are happy with the way Wieters has progressed?

Justin- Not sure was AGT is, but I pretty well stuck with the game for the most part.

Craig- I think he's a little behind where I and am the team hoped he would be, but solid nonetheless.

And that was a nice move by Martin.

I'd love to get that SI signed by Wieters.

Or a Wieters autograph of any type really.

I love autographed magazines. I've got one SI and a couple of Becketts in my collection signed.

There were a lot of first-timers at the game this year...and truthfully, too many bigger names stepped out. I didn't want to see Arod there, but I did want to see Jeter.

The ASG just ain't what it used to be.
