Looking Towards The Future

Since the Orioles present isn't exactly great, let's hope that the player they select tonight, likely either Jameson Taillon or Manny Machado turns out to be an all-time talent. HOF-er even.

I was going to feature a scan of one of the O's past first-round selections but I don't have anything new scanned of Wieters, Matusz or Kakes.

So here's a scan of my Will Clark autograph. The Giants took him in the first round of the 1985 draft.

Even if Taillon or Machado don't end up with a HOF caliber career, I would settle with Will Clark's level of success. He was pretty great over the years. This year's Orioles could probably still use The Thrill's bat, even though he's 46 years old and has been retired for 10 years. I'm pretty sure that he could've hit at least 1 HR when playing at first base by now...I'm just saying.

Yeah, I still hope that Billy will progress but how great would it be if Lincecum was an Oriole?

I have high hopes for Machado.
